A warm and heartfelt welcome to the final episode of Thesis in 5 Minutes (T5M), Series 2/2023! It's been quite a journey since we first organized this event back in January 2020. For three consecutive years and six remarkable series of T5M, it has been our privilege to serve as hosts and to support the growth of graduate and postgraduate students' presentation skills.
T5M, at its core, challenges students to articulate their research and its significance to a non-specialist audience in a concise five-minute video presentation. The recognition and awards garnered here can significantly bolster a student's academic journey.
Each video submitted undergoes rigorous evaluation by two jurors, and their collective assessment ultimately determines our winners. The judging process brings together eight expert jurors from various institutions, and you can find the complete list in this booklet.
I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the winners. Winning is a notable achievement, but I firmly believe that participation, hard work, and the invaluable experience of presenting to diverse audiences are equally crucial. Students can gain immeasurable insights from both their victories and their challenges. Understanding why they may not have won and how to improve for future competitions is an essential part of this educational journey.
As you continue your academic pursuits, I wish you a seamless and fruitful journey, filled with success in all your future endeavors. I extend my sincere gratitude to each one of you for participating in Thesis in 5 Minutes, Series 2/2023.
Note: The certificate of participation and award will be emailed on Monday, 23 October 2023. Please notify us if you do not receive the certificates by Tuesday.
